Luiz 83 é o nome artístico de Luiz dos Santos Menezes, nascido em 1983 na cidade de São Paulo ele trabalha e reside nesta cidade. Autodidata sua formação decorre da experiência adquirida nas ruas da cidade como “pichador” atividade que ofereceu o principio de um vocabulário plástico que vem sendo refinado á partir de pesquisas que o artista desenvolve com considerável grau de inventividade em de meios mais convencionais como o desenho, a pintura e a escultura. Sua experiência profissional como montador de exposições de arte também lhe oferece a oportunidade de permanecer em intimo contanto com obras de caráter clássico e contemporâneo, oportunidade que resulta em conhecimento sensivelmente assimilado. Nas suas obras é possível perceber um concretismo de tipo bastante peculiar e sem dúvida sofisticada nas soluções formais e nos arranjos conceituais e de natureza POP qualidade também percebida através de um cromatismo que em geral privilegia cores brilhantes de luminosidade intensa. O artista também tem se dedicado a performances onde coloca em questão o lugar social do negro e tematiza a relação do corpo com seu fazer artístico e interações com a cidade. O artista participou de várias mostras individuais e coletivas entre quais se destacam a individual “Z” na galeria Tato e as coletivas “Tendências da Street Art no Museu Brasileiro de Escultura e “Pretatitude: insurgências, emergências e afirmações na arte contemporânea afro-brasileira” nos SESC Ribeirão Preto, São Carlos, Vila Mariana e Santos”.

The artist has also dedicated himself to performances where he questions the social place of the black and thematizes the relationship of the body with its artistic make and interactions with the city. The artist participated in several individual and collective exhibitions, among which the individual "Z" in the Tato gallery and the "Street Art Trends in the Brazilian Museum of Sculpture" and "Pretatitude: insurgencies, emergencies and affirmations in Afro-Brazilian contemporary art" in SESC Ribeirão Preto, São Carlos, Vila Mariana and Santos ".
